A lightweight evening serum formulated with 2% bakuchiol to improve the appearance of fine lines, uneven texture and loss of elasticity without using a traditional retinoid. Calendula extract and rosehip seed oil complement the formula with soothing, conditioning and barrier-supporting benefits.
With consistent use, SkinHero™ helps the complexion appear smoother, brighter and more refined while remaining comfortable enough for those beginning a retinol-style routine.

Why It Is Different
Bakuchiol is often called a botanical or “bio-retinol,” but it is not a retinoid. It is a chemically distinct plant-derived ingredient studied for its ability to support some of the same visible concerns commonly associated with retinol, including wrinkles, pigmentation and uneven texture.
SkinHero™ pairs a concentrated 2% level of bakuchiol with conditioning botanicals and humectants, creating a silky treatment that supports visible renewal without relying on retinol.

Loshen & Crem’s Recommendation
SkinHero™ is a thoughtful introduction to age-supportive skincare for clients who find traditional retinol difficult to tolerate or simply prefer a non-retinoid option.
Although bakuchiol is generally considered gentle, more is not better. Begin with one pump every other evening, particularly if your routine already contains exfoliating acids or other active treatments.
If your skin is dry, apply Jelly Drops® first and follow SkinHero™ with moisturizer. Those highly sensitive to citrus oils should patch test carefully because the formula contains bitter orange peel oil and limonene.

Bakuchiol and Retinol
Bakuchiol and retinol are not the same ingredient. Retinol is a vitamin A derivative that must undergo conversion within the skin, while bakuchiol is a chemically distinct botanical compound derived from the babchi plant.
A small independent study compared a 0.5% bakuchiol cream used twice daily with a 0.5% retinol cream used nightly for 12 weeks. Both groups experienced improvements in wrinkles and hyperpigmentation, while the retinol group reported more scaling and stinging.
That study supports bakuchiol as a promising alternative, but it does not prove that every bakuchiol formula is interchangeable with retinol. SkinHero™ should be evaluated according to its own formula and clinical testing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is SkinHero™ a retinol serum?
No. SkinHero™ contains bakuchiol, not retinol or another retinoid. “Bio-retinol” describes its intended cosmetic role, not its chemical identity.
Is bakuchiol proven to work exactly like retinol?
No. A small independent study found comparable improvements from one specific 0.5% bakuchiol formula and a 0.5% retinol cream, but that does not establish that every bakuchiol product is identical to retinol.
Can sensitive skin use SkinHero™?
SkinHero™ was designed as a gentler retinol alternative, but individual tolerance varies. It also contains bitter orange peel oil and limonene, so fragrance-reactive skin should patch test carefully.
Can SkinHero™ help with breakouts?
Bakuchiol may support a clearer-looking complexion, but SkinHero™ is not an acne medication and should not be presented as a treatment for acne.
Can it be used every night?
Yes, once tolerance has been established. Begin every other evening and increase to nightly use if the skin remains comfortable.
Can I combine it with retinol or exfoliating acids?
It may be possible, but combining several active products can increase dryness or irritation. Most clients do not need SkinHero™ and retinol in the same routine. Alternate evenings when using exfoliating acids or another retinoid unless a professional has recommended otherwise.
Is SkinHero™ suitable for beginners?
Yes. Its bakuchiol-based formula makes it a thoughtful starting point for someone introducing an age-supportive nighttime treatment.
Is it fragrance-free?
No artificial fragrance is listed, but SkinHero™ contains bitter orange peel oil and limonene. Those avoiding essential oils or fragrance components should review the formula carefully.
Can SkinHero™ be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Bakuchiol is not a retinoid, but pregnancy and breastfeeding safety data remain limited. Consult your physician or qualified healthcare provider before introducing it during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
What did the SkinHero™ clinical trial show?
In an independent clinical trial involving 26 participants between 35 and 65 years old, 84% had a reduction in the number of visible wrinkles and 76% showed improved skin elasticity after 28 days. Individual results may vary.
