Heat is part of how Exilis works. It can affect skin and underlying tissue, so where we treat matters. We consider your skin firmness, natural facial volume and comfort before recommending a plan. Our lower-face focus is our chosen protocol; it does not mean every full-face Exilis protocol is unsafe.
How does the technology work?
BTL Exilis Ultra 360 combines radiofrequency and ultrasound. Controlled heating can initiate collagen remodelling, helping improve the appearance of skin laxity and fine lines over time. It is a non-invasive treatment delivered through a handpiece on the skin.

What is Exilis radiofrequency skin tightening?
Exilis Ultra 360 is a non-invasive BTL technology combining radiofrequency and ultrasound. Controlled heat supports collagen remodelling to help improve the appearance of skin laxity and wrinkles. Loshen & Crem offers targeted lower-face Exilis treatments in Edmonton.
Do you treat the whole face or body?
No. Our Exilis protocol focuses on selected lower-face areas. We do not offer full-face or body Exilis treatments. Your exact treatment area is confirmed after assessing your skin, facial volume and goals.
Why does facial volume matter?
Firmness and fullness are different concerns. Heat-based energy can affect underlying tissue as well as skin. We consider your natural volume when deciding where to treat and whether Exilis is suitable. A tightening treatment does not replace lost facial volume.
Does Exilis feel hot?
Yes. Heat is part of the treatment. Some clients describe it as a warm massage, but the sensation can be more intense and comfort varies. You should always tell your provider about pain or excessive heat; tolerating discomfort is not the goal.
How many sessions will I need?
BTL’s general guidance describes a course of 2–4 sessions, often spaced 7–10 days apart. This is general guidance, not a prescription for every client. We confirm your course and timing after assessing the area and your response.
When will I see results, and is there downtime?
Some people report an early change; results can continue to develop over the following months. There is usually little interruption to daily activities, although temporary redness or mild swelling may occur. We will discuss aftercare and relevant risks before treatment. Results and recovery vary.
Is Exilis the same as RF microneedling or a facelift?
No. Exilis delivers energy through a handpiece on the skin; it does not use needles. It also does not produce the same degree of correction as a surgical lift. If your main concern is significant laxity or volume loss, we will discuss whether another approach is more appropriate.

Is Exilis right for everyone?
Suitability is individual. Your provider needs to review your health history, implanted devices, medications and recent aesthetic procedures before treatment. We will explain the relevant contraindications and risks for the proposed area.

Exilis has published clinical research, but study sizes are limited and protocols differ. These sources inform our explanation of the technology; they do not guarantee an individual result or validate every detail of our own protocol.
- Chilukuri, Denjean & Fouque, Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, 2017: 34 participants completed treatment across several areas; the facial subgroup included 10 people. One author disclosed a BTL consultancy. This was not a randomized controlled trial.
