Our Em(p)tē program collects eligible beauty empties purchased at Loshen & Crem for recycling through TerraCycle. Save 10, prepare them, and bring them to our Edmonton boutique together.

First, what is an “empty”?
The product is finished.
The container is left.
That serum bottle you’ve used up. The jar after your last application of cream. Your finished cleanser tube. Those are your empties.
Some beauty packaging is difficult to recycle through household systems. We partner with TerraCycle to give eligible packaging access to a specialized recycling process.
Here’s exactly what to do.
Start with your next finished product.
Use it up.
Start with eligible products purchased at Loshen. The containers must be empty, with no visible product remaining.
Half-full products aren’t accepted.Rinse. Then dry.
Rinse with water where possible. Let everything dry before putting it aside.
Nothing wet or dripping.Collect 10.
Keep your empties at home until you have 10 eligible items to bring in together.
We can’t hold items between visits.Bring them back.
Bring all 10 to our Edmonton boutique. We collect your eligible empties for recycling through TerraCycle.

- Serum bottles and droppers
- Cream jars and lids
- Tubes, pumps and skincare caps
- Mascara, lipstick and compact packaging
Empty, rinsed where possible, and dry.
Please leave these out
- Perfume, nail polish and nail polish remover
- Aerosols and pressurized cans
- Electronics, wood and bamboo items, including wood-capped jars
- Razors, needles, broken glass or contaminated items
- Cardboard boxes and containers with product left inside

I only have three empties. What should I do?
Keep them at home for now and add to your collection as you finish other products. Bring all 10 in one visit; we cannot store them across visits.
What if the brand is sold at Loshen, but I bought it elsewhere?
That item isn’t eligible. The product itself must have been purchased at Loshen & Crem.
Can I bring a product I haven’t finished?
Em(p)tē is for empty packaging. For help with an unfinished product or a purchase concern, contact our team separately.
Should I include the cardboard box?
No. Keep outer cardboard packaging out of your Em(p)tē collection and use your local cardboard recycling service.
