The Loshen perspective

Why you’ll love it.

Softer arms, smoother legs, no scrubbing.

Velvet Body is our pick for “chicken skin” on the backs of the arms and thighs, and for elbows, knees and shoulders that look dull or feel rough. 10% glycolic acid gently exfoliates, while niacinamide, squalane, shea butter and cholesterol keep skin soft and comfortable.

Be patient and consistent: two to three times a week, after the shower, is where the results come from. And since glycolic acid makes skin more sun-sensitive, wear sunscreen on exposed areas.

Skin knowledge

Beyond the ingredient list.

Should I scrub “chicken skin” away?

Those small rough bumps on the backs of the arms and thighs come from keratin building up around the hair follicles. Scrubbing hard tends to irritate the skin and make the bumps look redder, without really smoothing them.

Our lens: a leave-on acid like Velvet Body softens that build-up gently, two to three times a week, with nourishing ingredients to keep skin comfortable. Expect a few weeks of consistent use. If the bumps are inflamed, itchy or widespread, book a consultation so we can look at it together.

Is this right for you?

A little guidance for your next step.

A thoughtful choice if…

You have rough, bumpy patches on the backs of the arms or thighs, or dull, dry elbows, knees and shoulders, and you want smoother skin without harsh scrubbing.

Consider first…

Avoid freshly shaven, broken or irritated skin, and wear sunscreen on exposed areas. It contains lavender and geranium oils: patch test first if you react to essential oils. If you have a diagnosed skin condition, book a consultation before use.

Product questions

Your questions, answered.

A few useful details before making it part of your routine.

How often should I use it?

Two to three times a week, after the shower. On the other days, use your regular body moisturizer.

Can I use it after shaving?

Not right after. Glycolic acid can sting on freshly shaven skin. Wait a day, or shave on the days you are not using it.

Do I need sunscreen?

Yes. Glycolic acid makes skin more sensitive to the sun, so wear sunscreen daily on any area you treat that is exposed.

Can I use it on my face?

It is formulated for the body. For the face, we suggest Gentle AHA Cream or Lactic Acid Serum instead.

Can I use it during pregnancy?

Every situation is different, and skin can be more reactive during pregnancy. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, check with your healthcare provider before use.
