How to Use

What Hypochlorous Acid Does—and Does Not Do

Hypochlorous acid is a compound naturally produced by the body’s immune system as part of its protective response. In a properly formulated skincare mist, it can help calm visible redness, comfort reactive skin and support a more balanced-looking complexion.

Despite its name, hypochlorous acid is not an exfoliating acid like glycolic or salicylic acid. It does not remove dead skin cells or increase sensitivity to sunlight in the same way exfoliating acids can.

Take Five™ is also not a facial cleanser, hand sanitizer or medical acne treatment. It will not remove makeup, sunscreen, excess oil or accumulated sweat. Instead, it works as a supportive step for refreshing blemish-prone or temporarily uncomfortable skin.
