Unlike a traditional retinol eye cream, it contains no retinol or retinoic acid. Its “bio-retinol” positioning comes from rambutan leaf extract, a botanical ingredient used to target similar visible concerns through a gentler approach.

How to Use

Use morning or evening.

After applying water-based serums and before moisturizer, dispense one small pea-sized amount for both eyes.

Gently distribute the cream beneath the eyes and along the orbital bone using the ceramic applicator. Finish by lightly tapping with your ring finger until absorbed.

Avoid applying directly to the eyes, lash line or mobile eyelids. For an enhanced cooling and soothing effect, store the eye cream in the refrigerator.

What “Bio-Retinol” Means in EyeHero®

“Bio-retinol” is a cosmetic marketing term rather than the name of one standardized ingredient. It generally describes botanical ingredients selected to target some of the same visible concerns associated with retinol, such as fine lines, uneven texture and loss of firmness.

In EyeHero®, the bio-retinol alternative is rambutan leaf extract. The formula does not contain retinol, retinal or retinoic acid, and rambutan should not be considered chemically identical to a vitamin A derivative.

This makes EyeHero® a thoughtful option for clients who want smoothing and firming support without introducing a traditional retinoid around the eyes. However, botanical does not automatically mean reaction-free, so patch testing remains important.

Does EyeHero® contain retinol?

No. EyeHero® contains rambutan leaf extract, a botanical ingredient positioned as a bio-retinol alternative. It does not contain retinol, retinal or retinoic acid.

Is the bio-retinol in EyeHero® bakuchiol?

No. EyeHero® uses rambutan leaf extract. SkinHero™ facial serum is the Three Ships product formulated with bakuchiol.

What does EyeHero® help with?

Does it provide instant results?

Hydrating ingredients and Honey Locust Seed Extract can create an immediate plumping and temporary smoothing effect. Three Ships states that the instant visible effect gradually fades after approximately eight hours. Individual results may vary.

Does EyeHero® permanently lift the eye area?

No topical eye cream can physically or permanently lift tissue. EyeHero® hydrates and forms a lightweight film that can temporarily create a smoother, firmer and more lifted appearance.

Does Kangaroo Paw Flower produce collagen?

Three Ships uses Kangaroo Paw Flower Extract to support the appearance of elasticity and firmness. We would not describe a cosmetic eye cream as directly generating or replacing collagen in the skin.

Is EyeHero® suitable for sensitive skin?

The formula is dermatologist-tested, identified by the brand as hypoallergenic and contains no essential oils or added synthetic fragrance. However, hypoallergenic does not guarantee that a reaction is impossible, so patch testing is still recommended.

Can I use it if traditional retinol irritates my skin?

EyeHero® may be a gentler alternative because it does not contain a traditional vitamin A derivative. Introduce it gradually if your eye area is particularly reactive.

Can EyeHero® be used during pregnancy?

The formula does not contain traditional retinol. However, anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding should consult their healthcare provider before introducing new skincare products.

What is the difference between EyeHero® and First Light®?

First Light® targets puffiness, dark circles and visible dullness with acerola and coffee-derived caffeine. EyeHero® focuses on hydration, fine lines and visible firmness with rambutan, Kangaroo Paw Flower and Honey Locust Seed.

We recommend First Light® in the morning and EyeHero® in the evening.

Can I use EyeHero® with OffDuty™ Eye Masks?

Yes. Apply OffDuty™ after cleansing, remove the masks after 10 to 20 minutes and allow the remaining serum to absorb. Follow with a thin layer of EyeHero®.

Can I use it with a facial retinol?

Yes, but avoid layering multiple active products directly around the eyes unless your skin tolerates them well. Keep facial retinol away from the immediate eye area and introduce EyeHero® gradually.

Can it be applied to the eyelids?

Apply along the orbital bone beneath and around the eyes. Avoid the mobile eyelids, lash line and direct contact with the eyes unless your healthcare professional advises otherwise.

Can it be worn under makeup?

Yes. Use a small amount, allow it to absorb completely and follow with sunscreen and makeup. Overapplication may cause concealer to pill or crease.

Can I store it in the refrigerator?

Yes. Refrigeration enhances the cooling sensation of the ceramic applicator. Do not freeze the product.
