The Loshen perspective

Why you’ll love it.

Polished skin, once a week.

ReSURFACE Skin Polish combines two ways of exfoliating in one step: fine volcanic mineral for a gentle polish, and a low level of glycolic acid to loosen dull surface cells. Thirty seconds of massage, a rinse, and skin feels smoother and looks brighter right away.

What we appreciate most is the restraint. Alastin recommends it once a week, in a hydrating base, so you get the polished look without overdoing it. It is a lovely weekly ritual for skin that looks dull or feels rough.

Ingredients, explained.

Explore the formula

Choose an ingredient to explore its role.

Formula note 01

Glycolic acid

Chemical exfoliation

An alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that helps loosen dull surface cells, for smoother-looking texture and a softer look of fine lines.

Ingredient imagery is illustrative.

Formula note 02

Perlite

Physical exfoliation

A naturally derived volcanic mineral. Its fine particles gently polish the skin’s surface as you massage.

Formula note 03

Phytoene & phytofluene

Antioxidant support

Colourless carotenoids from the microalga Dunaliella salina. Alastin includes them as antioxidants to help protect the skin.

Ingredient imagery is illustrative.

Formula note 04

Arginine

A gentler acid

An amino acid that Alastin pairs with a low level of glycolic acid to help limit sensitivity.

Skin knowledge

Beyond the ingredient list.

Scrub or acid: why does this polish use both?

They work differently. Perlite, a fine volcanic mineral, polishes the surface the moment you massage it in. Glycolic acid works more quietly, loosening the dull cells that make skin look flat. Together they give an immediate smooth feel and a brighter look.

Our lens: more exfoliation is not better. Keep to once a week, skip retinol and other exfoliants that evening, and wear sunscreen every morning. If your skin feels tight or stings, give it a break.

Is this right for you?

A little guidance for your next step.

A thoughtful choice if…

Your skin looks dull, uneven or feels rough, and you want a simple weekly step for smoother, brighter-looking skin. Alastin notes it suits most skin types, including dry, oily and combination.

Consider first…

Alastin notes it may not be ideal for skin with redness, inflamed acne, sensitivity or a reaction to glycolic acid. After an in-clinic treatment, ask your provider before using it again.

Product questions

Your questions, answered.

A few useful details before making it part of your routine.

When will I see results?

Skin feels smoother and looks brighter right after use. In Alastin’s clinical study of 17 participants, 100% showed improvement in skin dullness after one week, and after two weeks 94% agreed their overall skin appearance improved. Individual results vary.

How often should I use it?

Once a week, morning or night, or as directed by your skin care provider. Apply to cleansed, still-wet skin, massage for about 30 seconds and rinse.

Is it gentle enough for sensitive skin?

It uses a low level of glycolic acid alongside arginine to limit sensitivity, and contains no fragrance. In Alastin’s clinical study, 94% reported no dryness, redness or irritation after two weeks. Still, Alastin notes it may not be ideal for redness, inflamed acne or very sensitive skin.

Can I use it with retinol or other exfoliants?

Yes, on different nights. Skip retinol, peels and other exfoliants on the evening you polish, and wear sunscreen every morning.

Can I use it around in-clinic treatments?

Between treatments, yes: Alastin designed it to complement most in-office treatments. Afterwards, speak with your provider before using it again.
