How to Use

Apply one to two pumps to clean, dry skin after cleansing and before moisturizer. Extend the application to the neck and décolletage if desired.

Bakuchiol and Retinol

Bakuchiol and retinol are not the same ingredient. Retinol is a vitamin A derivative that must undergo conversion within the skin, while bakuchiol is a chemically distinct botanical compound derived from the babchi plant.

A small independent study compared a 0.5% bakuchiol cream used twice daily with a 0.5% retinol cream used nightly for 12 weeks. Both groups experienced improvements in wrinkles and hyperpigmentation, while the retinol group reported more scaling and stinging.

That study supports bakuchiol as a promising alternative, but it does not prove that every bakuchiol formula is interchangeable with retinol. SkinHero™ should be evaluated according to its own formula and clinical testing.

Is SkinHero™ a retinol serum?

No. SkinHero™ contains bakuchiol, not retinol or another retinoid. “Bio-retinol” describes its intended cosmetic role, not its chemical identity.
