Worth knowing
A closer look at your skin, your routine and what goes into the formula.
Blume Superpower Pore Clarifying Clay Mask is a creamy clay mask for skin that feels oily, congested or dull. It is made in Canada by Blume.
Kaolin, bentonite and montmorillonite clays absorb excess surface oil and help lift away the buildup that makes pores look clogged. Niacinamide and licorice root help even out the look of skin tone, while glycerin, aloe and vitamin E keep the skin comfortable.
It is not meant to dry hard or crack. Leave it on for ten minutes, rinse, and skin feels clean and soft rather than tight. Use it all over or only where you need it. It contains eucalyptus leaf oil, which gives it its fresh scent.
Many clay masks leave skin feeling tight, and that feeling is often taken as proof they worked. Usually it means the skin lost more water than it wanted to. Superpower clears away oil without that squeaky finish, and it works beautifully on the T-zone alone. We like it as a weekly reset, followed straight away by hydration.
Oily and congested skin
Combination skin? Mask only the forehead, nose and chin, and leave the cheeks alone.
Aqua/Water/Eau, Kaolin, Glycerin, Bentonite, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Montmorillonite, Niacinamide, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Xanthan Gum, Citric Acid, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate, Butylene Glycol.
Start once a week. Oily or combination skin can go up to twice a week, as long as skin stays comfortable.
No. Rinse after ten minutes, before it sets hard. A cracked clay mask can leave skin feeling dry and tight.
No mask changes pore size. By clearing oil and buildup, it can make pores look cleaner and less visible for a while.
It contains eucalyptus leaf oil, which gives it a fresh scent. If essential oils bother your skin, patch test first.
Yes. Dab a little on the spot, leave it for up to ten minutes, then rinse.
Yes, on oily or congested areas only, followed straight away by a hydrating toner and moisturizer.

Blume Superpower Pore Clarifying Clay Mask offers the satisfying freshness of a traditional clay mask—without making your skin feel as though it has been left in the desert.
The creamy pink formula combines kaolin, bentonite and montmorillonite clays to absorb excess surface oil and help lift away buildup that can contribute to congestion. Niacinamide and licorice root help improve the appearance of uneven-looking tone and visible pores, while glycerin, aloe vera and vitamin E help maintain moisture and comfort throughout the ten-minute treatment.
Superpower does not fully dry down or crack like a traditional clay mask. Instead, it rinses away to reveal skin that feels clean, soft and comfortably balanced, with a fresher and more luminous appearance.
Apply it across the face when the complexion feels oily or congested, or use it only through areas such as the nose, chin and forehead where buildup and visible pores tend to be more noticeable. Blume also suggests using Superpower as a targeted treatment on active blemishes.
Begin with freshly cleansed skin.
Apply a generous, even layer over the face and neck, avoiding the eye area, lips and hairline. The mask may also be applied only to areas experiencing excess oil, congestion or visible pores.
Leave on for ten minutes. Do not wait for the mask to become completely dry, hard or cracked.
Rinse thoroughly with warm water, then gently pat the skin dry.
Follow with a hydrating toner, serum and moisturizer. During the day, complete your routine with broad-spectrum sunscreen.
Superpower is for the days when your skin feels congested, unbalanced or simply in need of a thoughtful reset.
We recommend applying it once or twice weekly rather than treating it as a daily challenge your pores must survive. Combination skin may benefit from using it only through the forehead, nose and chin while keeping drier areas comfortably untouched.
The goal is not to make the skin feel squeaky clean. That tight, polished feeling is not proof that a mask worked—it can be a sign that the skin has lost more moisture than it wanted to surrender.
Leave Superpower on for ten minutes, rinse it before it becomes uncomfortably dry and immediately follow with hydration. Pearl Drip Milky Toner and Meltdown Gel Cream make beautiful companions after masking.
Because the formula contains eucalyptus leaf oil, highly reactive skin or anyone sensitive to aromatic essential oils should patch test before applying it across the face.
Apply an even layer over the face, avoiding the eyes and lips. Leave on for ten minutes before rinsing. Best for combination or oily skin experiencing widespread congestion and excess surface oil.
Apply only across the forehead, nose and chin. Best for combination skin that experiences oil and visible pores through the centre of the face but dryness through the cheeks.
Apply a small amount directly over the blemish and leave on for up to ten minutes before rinsing. Best for individual surfaced blemishes that need temporary oil-absorbing care.
Apply Superpower to oily or congested areas and use a hydrating mask over drier areas. Best for complexions whose different zones have very different opinions about what they need.
Aqua/Water/Eau, Kaolin, Glycerin, Bentonite, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Montmorillonite, Niacinamide, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Xanthan Gum, Citric Acid, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate, Butylene Glycol.

Superpower helps absorb excess oil, remove surface buildup and visibly improve the appearance of congestion, dullness and enlarged-looking pores.
It also contains hydrating and comforting ingredients to help reduce the stripped feeling often associated with clay masks.
No. Pore size is influenced by factors such as genetics, oil production and skin structure.
By removing surface oil and buildup, Superpower may make pores appear temporarily cleaner, tighter and less noticeable, but it does not permanently change their natural size.
Most skin types can begin with once weekly use.
Combination or oily skin may use it up to twice weekly when needed, provided the skin remains comfortable. Sensitive or dry skin may prefer less frequent or targeted application.
Blume recommends leaving the mask on for ten minutes.
Rinse it sooner if the skin begins to feel uncomfortable, itchy or excessively tight.
No. There is no need to wait until it becomes hard or cracked.
Leaving a clay mask on for too long can contribute to unnecessary dryness and discomfort.
Yes. Blume recommends it particularly for acne-prone and sensitive skin. Its clay blend helps absorb excess oil and buildup that can contribute to a congested appearance.
Yes. Apply a small amount over an individual blemish and leave it on for up to ten minutes before rinsing.
Blume’s co-founder has also recommended using Superpower as a targeted blemish treatment.
The formula contains glycerin, aloe and vitamin E to help maintain comfort and hydration, and Blume states that it is designed not to crack or leave skin feeling overly tight or stripped.
Frequency and application area still matter. Dry skin may benefit from using it only where congestion is present.
Blume identifies it as suitable for sensitive skin. However, it contains eucalyptus leaf oil, which may not suit every highly reactive complexion.
Patch test before use and rinse immediately if persistent burning, itching or irritation develops.
Yes, although targeted application is often the most supportive approach.
Apply it only through oily or congested areas, leave it on for no more than ten minutes and follow immediately with hydrating skincare.
Yes. It may fit into a simple teenage skincare routine for occasional oiliness or congestion.
It should not be combined with several aggressive acne treatments on the same day, particularly when the skin feels dry or sensitive.
Yes, but both products provide clarifying care.
Sensitive or dehydrated skin may prefer using a non-exfoliating cleanser before Superpower to avoid combining too many oil-removing or exfoliating steps.
Yes. After rinsing the mask, apply hydrating products and moisturizer. Meltdown Acne Oil can then be used as a targeted final step where needed.
Do not apply facial oil underneath the clay mask unless following specific brand guidance, as it may alter the mask’s application and performance.
Avoid using Superpower on the same evening as retinol when your skin is new to retinoids, dry or sensitive.
Alternating the products on different evenings can help reduce the likelihood of irritation.
We recommend avoiding Superpower immediately after a strong peel, scrub or intensive exfoliating treatment.
Allow the skin to recover and use a hydrating routine instead when it feels sensitized.
It contains eucalyptus leaf oil and has a fresh, verdant eucalyptus aroma.
Its natural-looking pink tone comes from the blend of mineral clays and the overall formulation. It does not contain an artificial colourant in the ingredient list currently published by Blume.
