A hydrating vitamin C serum for brighter, smoother and more even-looking skin

Le Mieux Vita-C Serum is a lightweight antioxidant serum formulated to revive dull, tired-looking skin while supporting hydration, texture and a more even-looking complexion. Two stabilized vitamin C derivatives—magnesium ascorbyl phosphate and aminopropyl ascorbyl phosphate—work alongside niacinamide, glutathione and superoxide dismutase to address visible discoloration and environmental stress.

The current formula also includes Le Mieux’s Hya10+ Complex, combining ten forms of hyaluronic acid to visibly plump dehydration lines and maintain moisture. Galactomyces ferment filtrate, panthenol, beta-glucan and amino acids further support softness, comfort and radiance.

Unlike a traditional low-pH L-ascorbic acid serum, Vita-C Serum uses vitamin C derivatives that are generally chosen for improved formula stability and a more comfortable application. This makes it a thoughtful option for clients who want antioxidant and brightening support but find highly acidic vitamin C formulas difficult to tolerate.

Benefits
  • Helps brighten dull, tired-looking skin
  • Supports a more even-looking complexion
  • Helps improve the appearance of dark spots and discoloration
  • Softens rough or uneven-looking texture
  • Provides antioxidant support against visible environmental stress
  • Hydrates with ten forms of hyaluronic acid
  • Helps visibly plump fine dehydration lines
  • Supports firmer, smoother-looking skin
  • Helps comfort the skin with panthenol and beta-glucan
  • Offers an alternative to traditional L-ascorbic acid serums
  • Layers comfortably beneath moisturizer and sunscreen
  • Contains no added parfum or essential oils according to the current published INCI
Best For

Vita-C Serum is particularly well suited to:

  • Dullness and loss of radiance
  • Uneven-looking skin tone
  • Early visible discoloration
  • Flat post-blemish marks
  • Rough or uneven-looking texture
  • Fine lines and dehydration lines
  • Seasonal skin stress
  • Skin exposed to urban and environmental stressors
  • Clients who find acidic L-ascorbic acid serums uncomfortable
  • Normal, dry, combination or mature skin
  • Dehydrated skin needing both antioxidant and moisture support
  • Anyone introducing a daily vitamin C serum

Vita-C Serum can support a brighter-looking complexion, but it should not be positioned as a stand-alone treatment for melasma or persistent pigmentation disorders.

Why It Is Different

Vita-C Serum combines two stabilized vitamin C derivatives with ten forms of hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, glutathione, antioxidant enzymes, skin-conditioning amino acids and supportive botanicals.

Rather than creating a highly acidic exfoliating sensation, the formula focuses on consistent brightening, antioxidant support and hydration. Le Mieux does not disclose the concentration of either vitamin C derivative, so the serum should be evaluated as a complete formula rather than compared with L-ascorbic acid products by percentage alone.

  • Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate: A water-soluble vitamin C derivative that supports brightness, antioxidant defence and a more even-looking complexion.
  • Aminopropyl Ascorbyl Phosphate: A stabilized vitamin C derivative used to support visible radiance and tone.
  • Ascorbyl Propyl Hyaluronate: A vitamin C-linked hyaluronic acid derivative that contributes hydrating and antioxidant support.
  • Hya10+ Complex: Ten forms of hyaluronic acid help maintain moisture and visibly plump fine dehydration lines.
  • Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate: Provides antioxidant and conditioning benefits while supporting a refined, luminous appearance.
  • Niacinamide: Supports the skin barrier, visible clarity and a more even-looking complexion.
  • Glutathione and Superoxide Dismutase: Provide antioxidant support against oxidative stress.
  • Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate: A licorice-derived ingredient that helps comfort the skin and improve the appearance of uneven tone.
  • Panthenol and Beta-Glucan: Hydrate, condition and support skin comfort.
  • Amino Acid Complex: Helps condition the skin and maintain hydration.
  • Vitamin E: Complements vitamin C with additional antioxidant support.
How to Use

Use morning and evening.

After cleansing and toning, apply three to five drops to the face and neck. Gently press the serum into the skin until absorbed.

Follow with eye care and moisturizer. Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning.

If you are new to vitamin C or have sensitive skin, begin once daily. Morning use is especially valuable because the serum’s antioxidants complement—but do not replace—daily sun protection.

Avoid direct contact with the eyes. Do not apply to broken or actively irritated skin.

Loshen & Crem’s Recommendation

Vita-C Serum is the one we recommend when the skin looks tired before you actually feel tired—dull, uneven, a little rough and simply missing its usual light.

We particularly like it for clients who have tried traditional L-ascorbic acid serums and found them too stingy, too acidic or too difficult to use consistently. The stabilized derivatives in Vita-C Serum offer a more comfortable approach, while niacinamide, Hya10+ and panthenol make the formula feel more complete than a basic antioxidant serum.

Begin with three drops every morning beneath moisturizer and sunscreen. Add evening use only if the skin remains comfortable and additional brightening support is desired. Five drops are helpful when extending the application to the neck; they are not a mandatory serum quota.

Vita-C Serum already contains ten forms of hyaluronic acid, so most clients do not need to layer Hyaluronic Serum beneath it. When several products perform the same role, the routine becomes longer—not necessarily better.

For persistent dark spots or melasma, we would build a more targeted pigment routine rather than expecting one vitamin C serum to do all the heavy lifting. Daily sunscreen remains the foundation of every brightening plan.

Complete the Le Mieux Radiance Routine
  1. Cleanse: Phyto-Nutrient Cleansing Gel
  2. Tone: Essence Toner
  3. Brighten and Hydrate: Apply three to five drops of Vita-C Serum
  4. Eye Care: Eye Wrinkle Corrector
  5. Moisturize: Bio Cell Rejuvenating Cream
  6. Protect: Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning

If using Brightening Toner, Perfect Renewal or another exfoliating product, introduce it gradually rather than adding every brightening step at once.

Vita-C Serum, Brightening Serum or TGF-β Booster?

These serums overlap in age-supportive benefits but address different priorities.

  • Choose Vita-C Serum for dullness, seasonal skin stress, early discoloration and antioxidant support. Its vitamin C derivatives are paired with Hya10+ for added hydration.
  • Choose Brightening Serum when persistent dark spots, uneven pigmentation and visible discolouration are the primary concerns and a more targeted pigment formula is needed.
  • Choose TGF-β Booster when early fine lines, loss of bounce, reduced firmness and uneven texture are more important than pigmentation.
  • Choose Hyaluronic Serum when dehydration and fine moisture lines are the main concerns without a specific need for vitamin C or peptides.

Most clients need one primary treatment serum in each routine. Vita-C Serum may be used in the morning and another targeted treatment at night when more than one concern needs attention.

Vitamin C Derivatives and L-Ascorbic Acid

L-ascorbic acid is the pure, biologically active form of vitamin C and has the strongest body of topical research. However, it is also difficult to stabilize and is commonly formulated at an acidic pH that some skin types find irritating.

Magnesium ascorbyl phosphate and aminopropyl ascorbyl phosphate are vitamin C derivatives. They are incorporated into skincare for improved formula stability and a potentially more comfortable user experience.

Vitamin C derivatives are not automatically interchangeable with L-ascorbic acid. Their performance depends on concentration, formula design, skin conversion and supporting ingredients. Le Mieux does not publish the percentages or pH of Vita-C Serum on its current product page, so it would be inaccurate to compare its strength numerically with a 10%, 15% or 20% L-ascorbic acid serum.

Vita-C Serum is best understood as a hydrating antioxidant and brightening serum—not as a high-acid vitamin C treatment.

Vitamin C and Sunscreen

Vitamin C does not replace sunscreen.

Broad-spectrum sunscreen helps reduce the skin’s exposure to ultraviolet radiation. Antioxidants support the skin against oxidative stress created by environmental exposure. Used together, they provide complementary—not interchangeable—support.

For clients addressing dark spots, uneven tone or visible sun damage, consistent sunscreen use is more important than applying additional layers of brightening serum.

Frequently Asked Questions

What forms of vitamin C are used in Vita-C Serum?

The formula contains magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, aminopropyl ascorbyl phosphate and ascorbyl propyl hyaluronate. These are vitamin C derivatives rather than pure L-ascorbic acid.

Does Vita-C Serum contain L-ascorbic acid?

No L-ascorbic acid appears in the current published ingredient list.

What percentage of vitamin C does it contain?

Le Mieux does not disclose the percentages of magnesium ascorbyl phosphate or aminopropyl ascorbyl phosphate on the current product page. A specific vitamin C percentage should therefore not be assigned to the serum.

Is it gentler than an L-ascorbic acid serum?

Vitamin C derivatives are generally selected for improved stability and a potentially more comfortable application. Individual tolerance still varies, and sensitive skin should introduce the serum gradually.

Can Vita-C Serum help with dark spots?

It may help improve the appearance of early dark spots, uneven tone and post-blemish marks. Persistent pigmentation and melasma generally require a more targeted routine and consistent sun protection.

Will it remove sun damage?

No topical serum removes all sun damage. Vita-C Serum can improve the visible appearance of dullness, uneven tone and discoloration while providing antioxidant support.

Can it help with acne scars?

It may help improve flat post-blemish discoloration. It will not remove indented, raised or structural acne scars.

Can I use Vita-C Serum every morning?

Yes. Morning use beneath moisturizer and broad-spectrum sunscreen is an excellent way to incorporate the formula’s antioxidant benefits.

Can it be used at night?

Yes. Le Mieux’s current directions recommend use morning and evening. Sensitive skin may begin once daily.

Is sunscreen necessary?

Yes. Sunscreen is essential when addressing discoloration, uneven tone or visible sun damage. Vitamin C complements sunscreen but does not replace it.

Can I use Vita-C Serum with retinol?

Yes. Use Vita-C Serum in the morning and retinol in the evening if your skin is sensitive. Experienced users may tolerate both within the same routine, but separating them often keeps the routine more comfortable.

Can it be used with exfoliating acids?

Yes, but layering several brightening or exfoliating products can increase irritation. Use Vita-C Serum in the morning and acids on selected evenings if sensitivity is a concern.

Can vitamin C and niacinamide be used together?

Yes. The idea that vitamin C and niacinamide must never be combined is outdated. Vita-C Serum already contains both within the same professionally formulated product.

Do I need Hyaluronic Serum underneath it?

Probably not. Vita-C Serum already contains the complete Hya10+ Complex. Add another hydration serum only when the skin has a clear need for additional moisture and tolerates the extra layer without pilling.

Can I combine it with TGF-β Booster?

Yes, but using both in the same application may feel repetitive because each contains Hya10+. We generally prefer Vita-C Serum in the morning and TGF-β Booster in the evening.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

Its vitamin C derivatives may be more comfortable than a highly acidic L-ascorbic acid serum. However, the formula contains orange fruit water and several active ingredients, so highly reactive skin should patch test and introduce it gradually.

Is Vita-C Serum fragrance-free?

No parfum, fragrance or essential oil appears in the current published ingredient list. It does contain orange fruit water, so clients with specific citrus sensitivities should review the formula carefully.

Can Vita-C Serum oxidize?

The formula uses stabilized vitamin C derivatives that are generally less oxidation-prone than L-ascorbic acid. Keep the bottle tightly closed and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.

If the colour, odour or texture changes significantly, contact Loshen & Crem or Le Mieux before continuing use.

How long does it take to improve discoloration?

Hydration and radiance may improve sooner than visible discoloration. Changes in dark spots and uneven tone require consistent use and daily sun protection. Le Mieux does not publish a guaranteed result timeline on the current product page.

Can Vita-C Serum be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

The current formula does not list retinoids or hydroquinone. However, consult your physician or qualified healthcare provider before introducing any active skincare product during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
