The Loshen perspective

Why you’ll love it.

A few drops, and the lengths look soft, smooth and glossy again.

The Hair Oil is the one we suggest when hair feels dry, frizzy or worn at the ends but heavier oils weigh it down. Argan, pomegranate, castor, baobab and sunflower seed oils with TFC8® help soften, smooth and detangle, and leave a natural shine without a greasy finish. It is silicone-free and suits all hair types, including fine and colour-treated hair.

Our advice: begin with less than you think you need. One drop on fine or short hair, two or three on thick, curly or very dry hair, always from the mid-lengths to the ends.

Formula note 02

Argan and pomegranate oils

Softness and smoothness

Antioxidant-rich oils with essential fatty acids that help soften the hair, smooth its surface and visibly reduce the look of split ends.

Formula note 03

Castor and baobab oils

Elasticity and strength

Fatty-acid-rich oils that condition the hair shaft, help improve elasticity and detangle, so brittle strands are less prone to visible breakage and frizz.

Ingredient imagery is illustrative.

Formula note 04

Squalane and vitamin E

Moisture and protection

Squalane, a light plant-derived emollient, helps hold in moisture; vitamin E is an antioxidant that helps defend the hair against environmental stress and visible damage.

Skin knowledge

Beyond the ingredient list.

Why mid-lengths and ends, and not the roots?

The hair near your scalp is the newest and receives the scalp’s own natural oils. The lengths and ends are older: they have seen more brushing, heat, colour and weather, so they are the driest and most fragile part of the strand. That is where an oil does its best work.

Our lens: start at the ends and work upward only as far as the hair feels dry. If your roots look flat or greasy after styling, you used a little too much or went too high. For the scalp itself, choose a treatment made for the scalp, such as The Scalp Treatment.

Is this right for you?

A little guidance for your next step.

A thoughtful choice if…

Your hair feels dry, frizzy or brittle at the ends, is heat-styled or colour-treated, and you want a lightweight, silicone-free oil that adds softness and shine without weighing it down. It suits all hair types, from fine to thick, curly or coily.

Consider first…

It is scented with rose and geranium essential oils, which contain natural fragrance components (citronellol, geraniol, linalool, citral). If your skin or scalp is sensitive, patch test first and keep the oil on the lengths. Augustinus Bader identifies it as suitable during pregnancy and breastfeeding; if you have specific concerns, check with your healthcare provider.

Product questions

Your questions, answered.

A few useful details before making it part of your routine.

Will it weigh down fine hair?

Not if you keep it light. Start with one drop and apply it only from the mid-lengths to the ends. The formula is lightweight and absorbs quickly.

Should I apply it to wet or dry hair?

Both work. On towel-dried hair before styling, it helps smoothness and manageability. On dry hair, a very small amount softens flyaways and adds shine.

Can I apply it to my scalp?

The brand recommends applying it mainly to the mid-lengths and ends. For scalp-focused care, we suggest The Scalp Treatment.

Is it suitable for colour-treated hair?

Yes. Augustinus Bader identifies it as suitable for colour-treated hair. It is formulated without silicones, parabens or sulfates.

How often should I use it, and can I leave it in overnight?

Two to three times a week, or whenever your hair needs more nourishment. Yes, you can leave a small amount on the lengths and ends overnight; it does not need to be rinsed.

Worth the wait.
