HydraTint is the sunscreen we reach for when a client wants to skip foundation on most days. It is a mineral SPF 36 with a soft, sheer tint that evens the look of skin tone and leaves a fresh glow instead of a white cast.

It also feels like skincare: light, hydrating and comfortable enough to wear every day of the year, including those grey Canadian winter mornings when SPF is easy to forget. Apply it generously, and keep it close for reapplication.

Two mineral filters that give broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection: titanium dioxide 8.9% and zinc oxide 3.4%.

The tint

Mineral pigments that give HydraTint its sheer colour, which Alastin designed to suit most skin tones and to soften the white cast mineral filters can leave.

Ectoin and thermus thermophilus ferment

Environmental support

Ectoin is a molecule that microorganisms make to cope with harsh conditions. Alastin pairs it with a ferment from a heat-loving microorganism, chosen with infrared light and blue light in mind.

Antioxidant blend

Phytoene, phytofluene and more

Dunaliella salina, a microalga, is Alastin’s source of phytoene and phytofluene, colourless carotenoid antioxidants. Hydroxymethoxyphenyl decanone adds antioxidant support and helps skin hold on to hydration.

HydraTint or SilkSHIELD: which Alastin SPF is for me?

Both are mineral sunscreens. HydraTint SPF 36 uses titanium dioxide and zinc oxide with a sheer tint, so it evens the look of your complexion. SilkSHIELD SPF 30 relies on zinc oxide alone, has no tint and blends in transparent.

Our lens: choose HydraTint if you like a little coverage and glow. Choose SilkSHIELD if you wear foundation anyway or prefer an invisible finish. Whichever you pick, the amount you apply matters more than the number on the tube.

A thoughtful choice if…

You want daily mineral sun protection that also evens the look of your skin tone, and you would rather skip foundation on most days. It is light enough for oily, combination and dry skin.

Consider first…

The tint is designed for most skin tones, not every one. If your skin is very fair or very deep, ask us for guidance first, or consider the untinted SilkSHIELD SPF 30.

   Start with clean skin

   Cleanse and pat your skin dry.

2. 02

   Serum, then moisturizer

   Apply your usual morning serum and moisturizer.

3. 03

   Apply generously

   Smooth over the face as the last step, 15 minutes before sun exposure. Wear alone or under makeup.

4. 04

   Reapply

   At least every 2 hours, after 40 minutes of swimming or sweating, and right after towel drying.
