An illuminating gel cleanser for dull, uneven and hyperpigmentation-prone skin
A refreshing gel cleanser formulated with mandelic acid to lift away impurities, gently refine surface buildup and support a brighter, more even-looking complexion.
Licorice root, tranexamic acid, vitamin C, bearberry and papaya complement the formula to help improve the appearance of dullness and uneven pigmentation. Skin feels fresh, soft and comfortably cleansed, while aromatic notes of bergamot, neroli and citrus create an uplifting cleansing ritual.

How to use
- Dispense a small amount into moistened hands and work into a light lather.
- Massage gently over the face and neck, avoiding the eye area.
- Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and pat dry.

- Follow with targeted serums, moisturizer and broad-spectrum sunscreen during the day.
- If your skin is new to exfoliating cleansers, begin once daily or several times per week before increasing use.

How It Works
Mandelic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid that helps loosen dull surface cells while supporting smoother-looking texture and a brighter complexion. It is paired with a multi-ingredient brightening complex—including tranexamic acid, licorice root, vitamin C, bearberry and oligopeptide-68—to support a more even-looking skin tone.
As a rinse-off formula, Brightening Cleanser is best used to prepare the skin for targeted serums and moisturizers rather than as the sole treatment for persistent pigmentation.
How to Use

Follow with a targeted leave-on serum and wear broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning, as UV exposure can deepen existing pigmentation and contribute to new discolouration.
Avoid combining too many exfoliating products in the same routine. If the skin begins to feel tight, dry or sensitized, alternate this cleanser with a gentle, non-exfoliating formula.

Will Brightening Cleanser remove dark spots?
It can support a brighter, more even-looking complexion, but a cleanser has limited contact time with the skin. Persistent pigmentation is best addressed with a targeted leave-on routine and consistent daily sunscreen.
Can I use it every day?
Yes, it may be used morning and/or evening as tolerated. If you are new to exfoliating acids or prone to sensitivity, begin several times per week and increase gradually.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
Mandelic acid is often considered a more approachable exfoliating acid, but this formula also contains aromatic essential oils. Very sensitive, reactive or barrier-compromised skin may prefer a gentler cleanser.
Can I use it with retinol or other exfoliating acids?
It may be possible, but using too many exfoliating products together can lead to dryness or irritation. Alternate products or reduce frequency if the skin becomes uncomfortable.
Can I use it if I have a nut allergy?
No. Le Mieux advises that mandelic acid is derived from bitter almonds and does not recommend this cleanser for individuals with nut allergies.
