The Loshen perspective

Why you’ll love it.

Gentle exfoliation for skin that usually says no to acids.

Sen-Citric Lotion is what we reach for when sensitive skin wants a smoother texture and a more even tone, but stronger acids leave it red or stinging. Biophora formulated it with sensitive skin in mind: 10% citric acid in a light lotion that absorbs easily and can be built up slowly, from once a day to morning and evening.

It is also one of our favourite answers for ingrown hairs on the bikini line and underarms. If your skin is reactive or you have a diagnosed condition, we are happy to help you introduce it safely during a free consultation.

Skin knowledge

Beyond the ingredient list.

Sen-Citric Lotion or Gentle AHA Cream?

Both are gentle ways for sensitive skin to exfoliate. Sen-Citric Lotion uses 10% citric acid in a light lotion that absorbs quickly and works on the face and body. Gentle AHA Cream uses lactic acid in a rich, comforting cream and stays on the face.

Our lens: if your skin is dry and feels tight, the cream adds comfort as it exfoliates. If your skin is normal to combination, you want to focus on uneven tone, or you also deal with ingrown hairs, Sen-Citric Lotion is the better fit.

Is this right for you?

A little guidance for your next step.

A thoughtful choice if…

Your skin is sensitive but you want a smoother texture and a more even tone, stronger acids have left you red or stinging, or you deal with ingrown hairs on the bikini line or underarms.

Consider first…

Introduce it slowly and wear broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning. It contains grapefruit oil, so patch test first if essential oils bother you. Avoid broken or very irritated skin, and if you have a diagnosed condition such as rosacea or eczema, book a free consultation with our estheticians first.

Product questions

Your questions, answered.

A few useful details before making it part of your routine.

How do I use it for ingrown hairs?

Apply a small amount to clean, intact skin on the bikini line or underarms, once a day to start. Skip it on freshly shaved, waxed or irritated skin, where acids can sting.

Can I use it if I have rosacea or eczema?

This is a cosmetic product, not a treatment. Many of our clients with reactive skin tolerate it well, but if you have a diagnosed condition, book a free consultation with our estheticians first, and never apply it to broken or flaring skin.

How often should I use it?

Start once a day. If your skin stays comfortable, move to morning and evening.

Do I need sunscreen with it?

Yes. Citric acid can make the skin more sensitive to the sun, so wear broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning.

Does it contain fragrance or essential oils?

There is no added fragrance, but it contains grapefruit oil. If essential oils bother your skin, patch test first.
