Toleskin [M]

THE 20-MINUTE SKIN CRISIS MASK

There is sensitive skin.

And then there are the moments when skin seems to reject absolutely everything.

Biologique Recherche Toleskin [M] is an intensive single-use mask and sterile serum system created specifically for intolerant Skin Instants experiencing episodes of pronounced redness, discomfort and barrier distress.

The treatment combines a dry mask support with a separate 15 ml sterile serum that is poured into the sachet immediately before application.

Its lipid-replenishing formula provides fatty acids and emollients to help limit water loss while soothing ingredients help calm visible redness and restore comfort.

After 20 minutes, skin feels soothed, cushioned and better supported, with a calmer-looking complexion.

This is not the mask we reach for because skin needs “a little hydration.”

It is what we think about when the skin is very clearly saying:

“Enough.”

Skin Instant:

Recommended for intolerant Skin Instants.

We particularly think about Toleskin [M] when skin is experiencing:

• Pronounced sensitivity or intolerance
• Visible redness
• Significant discomfort
• Tightness
• Itching associated with an intolerant Skin Instant
• Increased water loss
• A depleted-feeling protective barrier
• Episodes where normally well-tolerated skincare suddenly feels like too much
• A need for intensive soothing and lipid replenishment

Sensitive vs. Intolerant Skin: There Is a Difference

These words are often used interchangeably, but Biologique Recherche makes an important distinction.

A sensitive Skin Instant may experience:

• Redness
• Tingling
• Tightness
• Increased reactivity
• Reduced tolerance to environmental stress

An intolerant Skin Instant can react much more intensely.

Biologique Recherche describes intolerant skin as otherwise healthy skin that may enter a crisis state following internal or external triggers and react disproportionately to situations that would normally be well tolerated.

This can result in much more significant:

• Redness
• Itching
• Discomfort
• Visible irritation
• Barrier disruption

Toleskin [M] was created specifically for this more acute intolerance / crisis conversation.

Why Lipids Matter During a Skin Crisis

When the protective barrier is disrupted, the skin can lose water more readily through a process known as transepidermal water loss, or TEWL.

The result can be skin that feels:

• Tight
• Dry
• Rough
• Itchy
• Increasingly reactive

Adding water alone may not be enough.

The epidermis also needs lipids — including fatty acids and other emollient components — to maintain an effective protective environment.

Toleskin [M] combines soothing ingredients with lipid-replenishing oils to help:

calm + replenish + protect.

Why Is the Serum Manufactured in a Sterile Environment?

Toleskin [M] is unusual within the Biologique Recherche mask collection because the treatment serum is supplied separately from the mask.

Biologique Recherche manufactures this serum in a sterile environment and tests the finished treatment under dermatological control.

When you're ready to use it, the entire serum is poured directly into the sachet containing the mask.

This creates a very intentional treatment ritual:

dry support + fresh serum activation + 20 minutes of intensive contact.

For an intolerant Skin Instant where unnecessary variables are the last thing we want, we love how focused this treatment feels.

What Does “Anti-Atopy Crisis” Mean?

Biologique Recherche currently describes Toleskin [M] as an “anti-atopy crisis” mask.

That language refers to its positioning for highly intolerant Skin Instants experiencing episodes of intense redness, itching and discomfort.

It is important, however, to distinguish cosmetic skincare from medical treatment.

Atopic dermatitis is a medical inflammatory skin condition.

Toleskin [M] can provide cosmetic soothing, lipid replenishment and barrier support, but it should not be presented as a replacement for medical diagnosis or prescribed treatment.

When skin symptoms are severe, persistent, oozing, crusting or otherwise concerning, appropriate medical care comes first.

How to Use:

Begin with clean, dry skin on the face and neck.

1. Open the sachet across its width.
2. Open the serum tube by breaking the tip.
3. Pour the entire contents of the serum into the mask sachet.
4. Gently massage the closed sachet so the serum distributes evenly throughout the mask.
5. Remove the mask and unfold it completely.
6. Remove the protective film.
7. Apply the mask over the face and smooth gently with your fingertips so it adheres closely.
8. Leave on for 20 minutes.
9. Remove and discard the mask.
10. Gently press or massage the remaining serum into the skin using upward movements.

Avoid contact with the eyes.

Single-use product.

For external use only.

Loshen & Crem’s Recommendation:

Toleskin [M] is not the mask we recommend simply because someone says:

“My skin is sensitive.”

We think about it when someone says:

• “My skin is reacting to everything.”
• “Everything suddenly stings.”
• “My face is extremely red and uncomfortable.”
• “My skin feels like I've completely lost my tolerance.”
• “I need to stop doing things to my skin and calm it down.”

That distinction matters.

When the skin reaches this point, our instinct is not to correct five different concerns simultaneously.

We simplify.

We remove unnecessary actives.

We stop exfoliating aggressively.

And we prioritize comfort + lipids + barrier support.

Toleskin [M] is very much an intervention mask, not just another lovely mask to rotate through because it's Tuesday.

The Crisis-Routine Philosophy

When skin is genuinely intolerant, less becomes considerably more sophisticated.

A simplified evening may look like:

1. Cleanse using the gentlest cleanser your skin currently tolerates.
2. Skip aggressive exfoliation.
3. Apply Toleskin [M] for 20 minutes.
4. Press the remaining serum into the skin.
5. Finish with an appropriate soothing moisturizer, such as Toleskin [C], if recommended for your Skin Instant.
6. Leave everything else alone.

No exfoliation Olympics.

No “maybe one more acid will fix it.”

No throwing the entire skincare cabinet at a compromised barrier.

The skin has already made its opinion very clear.

Toleskin [M] vs. Masque Biosensible

This is one of the most important sensitivity comparisons within Biologique Recherche.

Choose Masque Biosensible when the skin is:

• Sensitive
• Reactive
• Flushed
• Tight
• Uncomfortable
• In need of ongoing soothing and hydration

Choose Toleskin [M] when the Skin Instant is more acutely:

• Intolerant
• Highly reactive
• Intensely red
• Itchy or significantly uncomfortable
• Experiencing a skin-crisis period
• In need of intensive lipid replenishment

Think:

• Masque Biosensible → ongoing sensitive-skin support
• Toleskin [M] → intensive crisis support

Toleskin [M] is the step up when ordinary sensitivity has become a much louder conversation.

Toleskin [M] vs. Toleskin [C]

These two products belong naturally together.

Toleskin [M] is the intensive single-use treatment.

It provides:

• Immediate soothing
• Redness support
• Lipid replenishment
• A 20-minute crisis-focused mask

Toleskin [C] is the ongoing sterile cream.

It is designed to support:

• Daily comfort
• Skin tolerance
• Barrier function
• Reduced itching and sensitivity
• Ongoing care for intolerant Skin Instants

Think:

• Toleskin [M] → the intervention
• Toleskin [C] → the maintenance

For a Skin Instant prone to episodes of significant intolerance, the two create a very logical treatment relationship.

Toleskin [M] vs. Crème Masque Vernix VG

Both support depleted skin, but their roles are very different.

Crème Masque Vernix VG is centred around:

• Lipid deficiency
• Dryness
• Reconditioning
• Protection
• Stressed or depleted skin

Toleskin [M] is more specifically centred around:

• Intolerance
• Acute redness
• Skin-crisis periods
• Significant discomfort
• Intensive soothing

Think:

• Vernix VG → depleted skin
• Toleskin [M] → intolerant skin

Not every dry skin crisis is an intolerance crisis — and not every intolerant Skin Instant primarily needs a rich everyday barrier mask.

Ingredients:

• Cardiospermum Halicacabum Flower/Leaf/Vine Extract: Balloon Plant Extract, the key soothing botanical highlighted by Biologique Recherche for Toleskin [M].
• Black Currant Seed Oil: Provides lipid-rich fatty acids to help replenish and support the skin's protective surface.
• Luffa Cylindrica Seed Oil: Botanical oil with a fatty-acid profile used to support lipid-deficient and uncomfortable skin.
• Boswellia Serrata Resin Extract: Frankincense-derived botanical extract incorporated into the intensive soothing complex.
• Sunflower Seed Oil Unsaponifiables: Lipid-rich components that help condition and support the skin barrier.
• Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride: An emollient that helps replenish softness and improve comfort.
• Glycerin: A humectant that helps maintain hydration.
• Lecithin: A phospholipid-rich ingredient that helps condition and support the lipid environment of the epidermis.
• Tocopherol: Vitamin E provides antioxidant and conditioning support.

Its lipid-replenishing formula is designed to supply fatty acids that help limit transepidermal water loss and strengthen the protective barrier.

If skin is severely damaged, broken or symptomatic, appropriate medical or professional guidance may still be necessary.

Does Toleskin [M] help itching?

Can I use Lotion P50 before Toleskin [M]?

Not automatically.

When skin is in a genuinely intolerant or crisis state, minimizing unnecessary exfoliation may be more appropriate.

We recommend choosing the preparation step according to what the skin can currently tolerate rather than assuming Lotion P50 belongs before every single mask.

Can I use Toleskin [M] after over-exfoliating?

If the skin is mildly sensitized, a simpler soothing routine may help.

If the skin is significantly burning, broken, severely irritated or otherwise compromised, discontinue active skincare and seek appropriate professional guidance rather than continuing to experiment.
