Biologique Recherche Sérum Vivant

The Microbiome-Balancing Serum for Persistent Blemishes

Biologique Recherche Sérum Vivant is a multi-corrective face serum developed specifically for adult skin prone to persistent blemishes.

Born from the cult legacy of Masque Vivant, this advanced daily formula approaches imperfections as a sign of skin imbalance—not something to be aggressively stripped away.

Its complementary prebiotic-postbiotic technology helps support the skin microbiome while targeting persistent blemishes, associated redness, excess sebum and uneven-looking texture. The skin progressively appears clearer, calmer and more balanced while its protective barrier and comfort are preserved.

Benefits

• Visibly reduces persistent blemishes
• Helps calm redness associated with blemishes
• Regulates excess sebum and visible shine
• Refines uneven-looking texture
• Helps minimize the appearance of enlarged pores
• Supports a balanced skin microbiome
• Reduces transepidermal water loss
• Supports the skin’s protective barrier
• Preserves comfort without excessive dryness
• Suitable for sensitive skin
• Leaves the complexion smoother, clearer and more even-looking

Best For

• Adult skin experiencing persistent or recurring blemishes
• Combination or oily skin with visible redness
• Excess sebum and unwanted shine
• Uneven-looking texture and enlarged pores
• Skin that feels both blemish-prone and sensitive
• Skin experiencing dehydration or barrier fragility alongside imperfections
• Anyone seeking a daily complement to Masque Vivant
• Skin that has become uncomfortable from overly aggressive purifying routines

Why It Is Different

Sérum Vivant is not simply another oil-control or spot-correcting serum.

Adult blemish-prone skin can experience excess sebum, persistent redness, dehydration, sensitivity and barrier fragility at the same time. Treating only the oil—or attempting to dry every imperfection—can leave the complexion more uncomfortable and less resilient.

Sérum Vivant takes a broader approach. Its prebiotic-postbiotic formula helps support the skin ecosystem while visibly correcting persistent blemishes, excess shine, redness and irregular texture.

The objective is not to overpower the skin. It is to help the skin recover its balance.

How It Works

Sérum Vivant combines three complementary biotechnology-derived actives:

• Yeast Extract is the signature postbiotic of the Vivant collection. Derived from the fermentation of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, it is naturally rich in amino acids and bioactive metabolites. It helps support blemish-prone skin and target biological markers associated with blemish-related redness.
• Inulin is a prebiotic polysaccharide that selectively nourishes beneficial microorganisms naturally present on the skin. By supporting microbial diversity and balance, it contributes to skin-barrier function and comfort.
• Polylysine is a fermentation-derived biomimetic biopolymer composed of lysine units. Its structure allows selective interaction with microorganisms associated with blemishes, including Cutibacterium acnes.

Together, these actives create a complementary prebiotic-postbiotic approach: prebiotics nourish beneficial microorganisms while postbiotics provide immediately available bioactive compounds.

Clinically Evaluated Results

With twice-daily application:

• 27% reduction in excess sebum after 14 days
• 19% improvement in the appearance of refined texture after 14 days
• 42% reduction in persistent blemishes after 28 days
• 21% reduction in redness intensity after 28 days
• 19% reduction in transepidermal water loss after 28 days

Sérum Vivant was evaluated under dermatological control on men and women, including participants with sensitive skin.

Results are based on separate instrumental and clinical evaluations involving 19 to 21 participants. Individual results may vary.

The Texture

Sérum Vivant has a slightly viscous, gelled aqueous texture that feels lightweight and silky as it moves across the skin.

It absorbs with a soft, non-greasy finish and does not leave the complexion feeling heavy or occluded.

Its distinctive colour and naturally characteristic scent come from the formula’s yeast-derived actives—an identifiable sensorial signature of the Vivant collection.

The serum is produced using a cold-process method to help preserve the integrity and quality of its active ingredients.

How to Use

1. Apply morning and evening after completing the Biologique Recherche Initialization Phase.
2. Dispense a few drops and apply to the face, neck and décolleté, avoiding the eye area.
3. Gently press or smooth the serum into the skin until absorbed.
4. Follow with any additional prescribed Sérums Authentiques.
5. Finish with the moisturizer selected for your Skin Instant®.
6. Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning.

When combining several Sérums Authentiques, apply Sérum Vivant immediately before Colostrum VG and/or Sérum Spectral.

Complete Biologique Recherche Balancing Protocol

1. Cleanse with the milk selected for your Skin Instant®
2. Apply the appropriate Lotion P50
3. Use Masque Vivant at the frequency recommended by your skin expert
4. Apply Sérum Vivant
5. Layer any additional prescribed Sérums Authentiques
6. Finish with your selected Biologique Recherche cream
7. Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning

Because persistent blemishes are multifactorial, the complete protocol should be personalized according to sensitivity, oil production, redness, dehydration and barrier condition.

Loshen & Crem’s Recommendation

Sérum Vivant is particularly well suited to adult skin experiencing stubborn, recurring blemishes accompanied by redness, shine or sensitivity.

We recommend using it consistently morning and evening rather than treating it only as an occasional spot serum. Its benefits are progressive: the texture begins to appear more refined, excess shine becomes better balanced and persistent blemishes and associated redness visibly improve with continued use.

It is also an important option for someone whose skin feels blemish-prone but no longer tolerates aggressive, overly drying routines.

A clearer-looking complexion should not come at the expense of the skin barrier.

The Difference Between Purifying and Over-Drying

Purifying the skin does not mean removing every trace of oil.

Sebum is part of the skin’s protective ecosystem. Difficulties arise when excess sebum, irregular keratinization, microbial proliferation and inflammation begin to interact within the follicle.

An overly aggressive routine may temporarily make skin feel less oily, but it can also increase discomfort, dehydration and barrier fragility.

Sérum Vivant takes a more intelligent approach:

• It helps regulate excess sebum rather than attempting to eliminate it
• It supports the skin microbiome rather than indiscriminately disrupting it
• It targets blemish-related redness while preserving comfort
• It improves visible imperfections while supporting barrier integrity

The result is not simply skin that feels drier. It is skin that appears progressively clearer and more balanced.

Sérum Vivant, Complexe Iribiol or Dermopore?

Each serum addresses a different expression of imbalance.

• Complexe Iribiol : is primarily recommended for hyper-seborrheic skin. It helps clear the appearance of active blemishes and reduce oiliness and is often applied more locally.
• Dermopore :  is a pore-refining serum recommended for combination or oily skin presenting enlarged pores. It helps refine visible pores and mattify the T-zone.
• Sérum Vivant : is a multi-corrective serum developed for adult skin experiencing persistent blemishes. It addresses blemishes, associated redness, excess sebum and uneven texture while supporting the skin barrier.

The most appropriate serum should always be selected according to a personalized assessment of the current Skin Instant®.
