- Use the two formulas consistently as your morning-and-evening pigmentation routine.
- Morning – MeLine 02 Ethnic Skin Day
- Cleanse the face and gently pat the skin dry.
- Apply a small amount of the Day serum evenly over the entire face.
- Allow the serum to absorb completely.
- Follow with MeLine 03 Moist when additional hydration is needed.
- Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 50 or higher.
- Evening – MeLine 02 Ethnic Skin Night
- Cleanse the face and allow the skin to dry completely.
- Apply a thin layer to areas affected by pigmentation, or across the face when directed by your skincare professional.
- Massage gently until completely absorbed.
- Follow with MeLine 03 Moist when additional hydration or barrier support is needed.
- Use consistently for up to 90 days or according to your skincare professional’s directions. MeLine’s current Day protocol recommends a minimum of 30 days, while the complete treatment period may be extended according to the type and persistence of your pigmentation.
- When used after the professional MeLine 01 Ethnic Skin application, begin the home-care protocol on the fourth day unless your practitioner provides different instructions.
- If irritation develops, reduce the Night formula to every other evening for two to three weeks before gradually returning to nightly use. Discontinue application and contact your skincare professional if persistent discomfort or redness occurs.

How to Use

Pigmentation in phototypes IV–VI requires precision—not aggression.
Irritation can contribute to lingering dark marks in medium-to-deep skin tones. Adding more exfoliation or using the formulas more frequently than directed will not necessarily produce faster results and may make discolouration more difficult to manage.
Keep the remainder of your routine gentle, hydrating and barrier-supportive. Apply SPF 50+ every morning and reapply during prolonged exposure. For complexions prone to stubborn dark patches or pigmentation influenced by visible light, consider a tinted sunscreen containing iron oxides for more complete daily protection.
MeLine B.B. Cream may provide tint and tone correction, but it is not officially classified as a sunscreen in Canada. Apply an approved broad-spectrum sunscreen first and use the B.B. Cream as an additional complexion-perfecting layer.

Who is the MeLine Ethnic Skin Duo designed for?

What is the difference between the Ethnic and Caucasian Skin Duos?
The Caucasian Skin Duo is formulated for fair skin phototypes I–III and uses ingredients such as kojic acid, azelaic acid and thioctic acid. The Ethnic Skin Duo is designed for phototypes IV–VI and features ingredients such as pyruvic acid, salicylic acid, niacinamide, vitamin C and cysteamine.

What is the difference between the Day and Night formulas?
The Day serum combines tranexamic acid, pyruvic acid, phytic acid, salicylic acid and glutathione to support visible brightness, surface renewal and antioxidant protection. The Night emulsion contains retinal, mandelic acid, arbutin, niacinamide and cysteamine to support overnight surface renewal and improve persistent pigmentation.
Should I apply both products to my entire face?
MeLine’s current directions recommend applying the Day serum across the entire face. Apply the Night emulsion to affected areas or according to the placement recommended by your skincare professional.
Can I use the duo without receiving the professional MeLine treatment?
Yes. The products can form a targeted home-care routine, although professional guidance is recommended when managing persistent pigmentation, stubborn dark patches or easily triggered dark marks.
How long should I use the duo?
MeLine recommends using the Day serum for at least 30 days. Complete Ethnic Skin protocols commonly continue for up to 90 days, with the appropriate duration determined by your pigmentation concerns and professional treatment plan.
Can I use the Night formula with retinol?
The Night emulsion already contains retinal, a vitamin A derivative. Avoid layering another retinoid over the same areas unless directed by a skincare professional.
Can I use exfoliating acids with this duo?
Both products already contain exfoliating acids. Avoid adding strong acid toners, peels or facial scrubs without professional guidance, as excessive irritation may contribute to additional visible discolouration.
Why is sunscreen essential?
UV and visible-light exposure can deepen existing pigmentation and contribute to its visible recurrence. Daily SPF 50+ helps protect the skin and preserve the visible results of the routine.
Does MeLine B.B. Cream replace sunscreen?
No. MeLine B.B. Cream is not officially classified as a sunscreen in Canada. Apply an approved broad-spectrum SPF 50+ first, then layer the B.B. Cream for tint and additional complexion correction.
Can I use the duo during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
The Night formula contains retinal. Consult your physician or qualified healthcare professional before using vitamin A derivatives during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
